  • Canoe Trips: What Are The Benefits?

    Why is canoe tripping part of the Cedar Ridge philosophy? At Cedar Ridge, we believe that all campers should participate in a canoe trip.  Trips are designed to take into account the age and ability of the group. The youngest start with an overnight on the camp property.  The oldest spend 5 days in Algonquin Park.  LITs spend 6-10 days

Did you know that the first canoe was built between 8200 and 7600 BC?

The word canoe comes from Kenu which means dugout as many of the first canoes were dugout of large trees. If you have the time on your way to camp, we recommend visiting the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough http://www.canoemuseum.ca/
