Cedar Ridge Camp is a traditional Summer Camp and year-round Outdoor Education Centre. Cedar Ridge Camp provides a classic camp experience for children from Ontario and around the world. We offer a safe, friendly atmosphere for children to develop physical and emotional skills while learning to live together comfortably in an outdoor environment.

Job Title

Climbing Instructor

Reports To

Land & Water/ Program Director

Supervises

Climbing/High Ropes LITs

 

Job Goal / Summary:

The Climbing Instructor is responsible for safely teaching beginner to advanced Climbing skills to campers.

Qualifications and Certificates:

  • Bronze Cross
  • Standard or Emergency First aid
  • Climbing/High Ropes Experience
  • Climbing/High Ropes Certified (Asset)
  • Mandatory training during pre-camp.

Responsibilities: A detailed list of tasks and responsibilities a person would need to successfully conduct the job. 

  • Deliver high-quality, age-appropriate high ropes and climbing instruction.
  • Develop creative programs and progressive lesson plans for campers.
  • Caring for and maintaining climbing equipment and program areas.
  • Ensuring safety and risk management protocols are followed.
  • Teach and record camper levels.
  • Developing and maintaining climbing routes.
  • Ongoing training and professional development of skills.
  • Organizing climbing trips alongside the Tripping Director.
  • Taking on the responsibilities of a Cedar Ridge Staff Member.

  • Ascend/Descend ladders.
  • Perform rescues in a variety of situations.
  • Work at heights and/or standing for long periods of time.
  • Physically demanding ( pushing, lifting, carrying, climbing, pulling).

Job Title

Canoeing Instructor

Reports To

Land & Water/ Program Director

Supervises

Canoeing LITs

 

Job Goal / Summary:

The Canoeing Instructor is responsible for safely teaching beginner to advanced Canoeing skills to campers.

Qualifications and Certificates:  

  • Standard or Emergency First aid
  • Bronze Cross
  • Mandatory training during pre-camp
  • ORCKA canoeing instructor certification.

Responsibilities: A detailed list of tasks and responsibilities a person would need to successfully conduct the job.

  • Daily canoeing instruction
  • Creative program design
  • Equipment care and maintenance
  • Uphold health and safety standards
  • Taking on the responsibilities of a Cedar Ridge Staff Member

  •  Able to portage and move canoes on and off the racks.
  •  Able to be active for long periods of time.

Dance & Drama Instructor

Job Goal / Summary: The Dance & Drama Instructor is responsible for safely teaching beginner to advanced Dance & Drama skills to campers.

Qualifications and Certificates:  A quick bullet point checklist of any required certificates, experience, licenses or qualifications.

  • Standard or Emergency First aid
  • Bronze Cross (NLS is an Asset)
  • Mandatory training during pre-camp  

Responsibilities: A detailed list of tasks and responsibilities a person would need to successfully conduct the job. 

  •  Deliver high-quality, age-appropriate Dance & Drama instruction.
  • Develop creative programs and progressive lesson plans for campers.

  • Help to lead Talent Shows and Coffe House’s
