Cedar Ridge Luge

Cedar Ridge Luge

The Rodle Mountain Luge Track

For years guests have been enjoying the exhilarating sport of Luge during their winter visits to Cedar Ridge. Located 10Km from camp, this 900m international level race course has hosted some of the world’s top competitors.

The track was first built by Paul Ives as a recreational activity for him and his three sons. Clay Ives, Paul’s youngest son went on to compete in three Winter Olympics (the first two with Canada, the last with the US). Clay’s biggest achievement was winning the bronze medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.

A day at the luge tracks starts off with an introductory lesson from Paul himself. Once participants are comfortable turning and stopping the sled on a beginner section of the course, they are free to move on to move challenging sections of the track. This makes the track perfect for all skill levels.
